Mmm... yes, the game had a lot of potential, but the plot really didn't bring the characters into it enough. To handle the number of characters, most of them ended up being stereotypes and most of them never got any character development. ...and the plot really wasn't paced well; pretty much all the important stuff is explained to you at the end, rather than you exploring it yourself. ...and the ending (even the long one) was so inconclusive! Argh!

...but yes, the character designs were very pretty, as was the animation, but I don't think the game lived up to Chrono Trigger. Hmm... oh! If you want good Chrono Cross fanart, you might want to try here instead: Sky on Water
