(Well, you guys asked for it ^_<

Witness my n00b 3D modeling skills! This is our first assignment for our 3D modelling class. We were asked to take photos of some reasonably simple objects to model and render in black and white using Maya. Apologies for the lack of textures, I'm still very new to Maya. Hopefully the next project will be more interesting.

As your first modeling assignment, this is pretty freaking sweet. My first modeling assignment was an apple T_T; Good job on the intricate lace design on the fan. Did you do this with polys or NURBS?

Thanks! The idea was that we would try out working with both polygons and nurbs, so the fan is made with polygons and the cup and pen are nurbs.

Maya is pretty awesome. theres this college called ACCAD, and there was a young women's mentoring program there, and i was picked to particiapte it in. its pretty awesome! maya is a bit complicated, though, i do agree.

im going back this summer, so thatll be fun. anyways, good luck with maya! ^_^
