This is another one of those pictures that I never thought I'd actually get done. I had a few days at work where I didn't have anything to do, so my boss let me paint whatever I wanted to. I brought in my original sketch from home and then worked pretty solidly on it.

The idea came simply from wanting to do a picture featuring a spiral staircase. As drawing one from scratch is a pain, I did a quick mock-up in 3D, then painted over it. As for the concept, it's loosely based on my personification of science fiction and fantasy.

Time: About 24 hours over four days
Tools: Photoshop CS3 & Wacom Intuos Tablet

I really love this picture. It's gorgeous... kinda reminds me of my love life right now... except the stairs that you've so wonderfully drawn are not crumbling...
