Original: Facing the Stormby *Risachantag

Hi guys, long time no post. Work and doujinshi projects have been keeping me busy; as a result this is the first digital painting I've had time to finish in a while.

I had a few ideas in mind for the story behind this, but one was of a seafaring culture where women who lost their husbands or lovers at sea would be turned into wood or stone to become figureheads which protected the vessels.

I experimented a little with photographic textures, but the majority of the work is digital painting with custom brushes. The water was the most challenging part, I repainted it several times.

Climb aboard with Original: Facing the Storm by *Risachantag! The water, however tricky it may have been to create, fits in perfectly and it looks wonderful with the various lighting conditions and the colors. The amount of time and effort put into this piece of art must have been tremendous as the final outcome of it is absolutely fantastic! Be sure to check out the detail shots too!
