I hit a couple of days of artist's block, so I decided to try a different approach to how I start a painting. Instead of starting with an idea, I started with shapes and textures. I wanted to try doing a painting which was more about flow and composition than the content or idea.

So yeah, much strangeness, with mechanical flowers. I don't think this is a style I'm likely to stick with, but trying different styles is very refreshing!

Time: About 3-4 hours
Tools: Photoshop CS3 & Wacom Graphire tablet

When I saw this picture pop up I was amazed, I have seen wonderful artwork in my life time but this has to be one of the best so far. The mechanical robot parts makes flower seem to look more alive and the image is just stunning.

The use of Colors is just briliant and the shows off its metal like state. Some colors coud be a little darker but this is too amazing and I see that a lot of affort has gone into making this masterpiece.

The lighting could be a little better around the bottom half but in over cases its great ^^

I hope that I see more artwork like this in the future and Well done ^^

You know, given the title and the cool artwork, this would make a great addition to any TCG collection. (Probably add some defensive or evasion bonus.)
