My reaction to seeing the 368/2 Days trailer at the Tokyo Games Show. (Yes, I was actually there in the closed theatre!)

I'm sure many people here already know my stance on sues (heck, this isn't the first comic I've done about them; [link]), but I just had to do this.

I would never have thought the same studio that wrote the scripts for KHCoM and KH2 would have such bad writing as to bring in not only a Mary Sue, but one of the sueiest sues that ever sued. Best friends with Roxas and Axel? Has dramatic scenes with Riku? Wields a keyblade? Keeps running away, and has to have Axel come and drag her back? At least there's a good chance she'll die a dramatic death, but you know what? That's ANOTHER thing Sues are famous for! Argh!

...oh well, at least Birth by Sleep looks much more awesome.

*EDIT* GUYS, I'm not bashing a character "I know nothing about". I've seen the closed theatre trailer, which shows quite a lot of her character. Quite enough, to be honest.

This is my response to that. I understand a lot of you haven't seen the trailer, and so don't have as strong an impression of Xarmy's character as I do, but you can stop telling me I'm not allowed to have an opinion on her. No, really.

*EDIT2* ...and now I've played the game too. I rest my case.

I believe what you are thinking of is the cannon sue due to the fact that Xion is a cannonical character. However, I personally do not think that Xion is a sue. In fact, I think the term Mary Sue has a bad habit of getting thrown around a little too much in fandom. Which is why I would prefer to restrict the term "Mary Sue" to just fanfiction.

"My opinion of sues"

...Eh...Xion is, if anything, a deconstruction of a Sue. He sole reason for existing is to grow close to Roxas so she can absorb him. Her creators don't care about her life and simply treat her as a back up in case things don't go the way they want.

When all is said and done Xion's role in the series is far from Mary Sue territory.

Heh, "dramatic scenes with Riku," no kidding. I'd prefer the friendship tie-ins that happened between him and Kairi and Namine in KH2 and KHCoM.

"Don't bash on Xion! SHE'S A FREAKIN' CHARACTER WHO IS PART OF THE STORYLINE!!! Without her, KH 358/2 Days would be complete crap. Well, the reason she has so many dramatic meetings with people and that she's close to perfect was because she was MADE to be close to perfect (by org. XIII?) and she gets Sora's memories, so she's pretty much related to every person in KH. That's why. And the reason she dies a dramatic death was because Roxas was best friends with her as well as kinda her twin. Well, they ARE both kinda made from Sora, right? And she is kinda one of the three main characters. -_-

OVERRULED! buuurrrrnnnnn....."
Errr..... You are wrong! Xion can out of the storyline, and she can be replace by Namine too
