Himeji Castle! We went down for a day trip to Himeji from where we were staying in Osaka. It's a really lovely place; the castle is very pretty. Unlike most of the castles in Japan these days, this one somehow managed to not be burnt to the ground, blown apart in a typhoon or broken up by an earthquake (quite a feat, I believe), so the building is very much like how it would have been many hundreds of years ago.

I went there when I went to Japan just a few weeks ago! It was awesome! Okay, so, it was super hot and i was thirsty thrlughout most of the tour, but it was cool! The stairs made me want to laugh cuz' it seemed like there was ALWAYS more stairs, and my friend would keep saying "oh my gosh, THIS PLACE WANTS TO KILL ME!!!" or something like that.
