I wanted some practise with dramatic lighting, so I decided to paint this picture with a strong back-light. I went back to my old technique of painting in greyscale first, so it took me quite a while to find a colour scheme that worked for me. (You can see the in progress greyscale painting on my Facebook page)

That egg isn't going to be anyone's dinner today!

Photoshop CS5, Wacom Intuos tablet, additional textures from cgtextures.com, 8-10 hours

It's amazing. Simply amazing.
My favorite part of it all, it may sound weird, though, is the water.
I have seen many good work from you, so the good figures are common.
But I feel that the water you painted here is so good, that, if you trim it, it could make a painting on its own.
I'm not saying that I don't like the rest of the painting, though. I'm saying that you really exceeded my expectations with the lighting in the water, and the water itself.
Keep up the good work :)
