There's a long story behind this one. I was browsing through the Daizenshuu EX forum and read through a feature on the new DBGT Dragonboz release and there was a link to little question/answer section with Toriyama that came with it. The question was "At the end, where did Goku go on Shenlong?" I'm afraid it's a bit too long to translate here but Toriyama basically says that he may have died, or maybe become 'something' else entirely; either way he says Goku dissappears off to somewhere where he won't see people.

However at the end he says that he himself imagines Gokuu just randomly appearing before Chichi every so often. Just sort of turning up. ^_^ (The page on which the original translation was on has now taken it down. Anyone know where a copy can be found?)

While I'm really not a fan of DBGT (I don't acknowledge it as canon), it sort of reminded me of the end of DBZ. I can just imagine Goku just randomly turning up for dinner without telling anyone after months or years of being away, and that's where the idea for this picture came from. "Yo! Tadaima!" (I'm home!)
