I'm back from Japan! ...and do I ever have some awesome photos to share with you guys!
This is me dressed as Sho (AKA the Grim Heaper) from The World Ends With You. Reference here: [link] If you've played the game, you'll know the game is set in Shibuya, in Tokyo.
Guess where I am in this photo? Hells yes.
It's a combination of two photos (to remove people staring in the background), and the skull symbol on the screen was added in, but this is in front of the actual scramble crossing. ...and the screen in the background is the one that has the "seven days" message on it in the game.
As for the costume, it may look like 'normal' clothing, but it took quite a lot of work. I made the coat from scratch, as it needed to have the right sort of fit and a huge collar that doesn't obey gravity.
The jeans I bought new, then spent a couple of afternoons savagely attacking them with a couple of cheese graters to make the holes. No, really. It worked surprisingly well. Material for the side pockets was salvaged from an old pair of jeans, then made into pockets and stitched on.
The hat I bought and modified, the jewelery I made from scratch, with the exception of the cross-link-bracelet, and the tattoo-glove I cut from a long black glove. It's stuck on with Japanese sock glue (My god, that stuff works well).
Needless to say, more photos to follow of both me and the truly amazing group of WEWY cosplayers with me.
I lovelovelovelove sho. You're so lucky to have cosplay of him AND get to go to Shibuya. I'm so zetta jealous. And u look awesome in this. All u need is a giant heap of random junk and a megaphone
That looks awesome. I have a homemade Neku cosplay in my room but my two friends who cosplay as Josh and Shiki are so unreliable for getting back to me about it. It's doing my head in. --_--
I can't find any that look accurate and are large enough ):
Anyway, you look epic!
